Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System
The Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System
We've looked a a few options for automating very heavy gates - and so far, the systems I've told you about are of the overground type. With all overground systems, the drawback is that you can see them. they're pretty visible from the inside . And if the gate is a wrought iron style, it will be visible from the outside - to a certain extent anyway. If you want a system that's invisible, we need to talk about the Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System.
This is indeed a very heavy duty system. Each operator weighs nearly 100kgs. When the Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System is set into a strong concrete foundation, it can carry a gate leaf of a couple of tons. We can re-engineer it to carry almost any weight of gate, but the heaviest gate leaf that we have automated to date has been just under two tons weight.
The Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System operators are made from heavy steel plate. It's hot dip galvanised to prevent rusting or corrosion. The pinion that the gate will sit down on, runs on a thrust bearing. This makes sure that the gate will turn easily. The pinion, bearing and the collar that it sits into a packed with lithium grease - to ensure smooth and reliable movement. Parts are precision ground from bright steel, to make sure that wear is minimal.
The Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System is rotates by a hydraulic ram, which is capable of producing 7 tons of force to move the gate - though this would never be necessary.
The mechanics of the system are all hidden from sight below ground. You don't get so see the magic at work. All you need to know is that it works!
The only thing you will see is the heavy steel lid on the operator. again, this is hot dip galvanised to prevent corrosion.
So where would you use a system like this? We've used them for car-park gates, distribution centres, business parks, equestrian centres, a medical centre. We've even used them on private dwellings where the gates were incredibly heavy for a driveway gate. the driveway gates in question were deliberately very heavy for security reasons - to prevent them from being bent open by ram raiding...
The gates around Leinster House - the Irish Parliment are automated with the Heavy Duty Hydraulic Underground Gate Automation System - the three main gate entrances - as well as being protected by other security measures.
Why would you use this system? Well, when your gates are very heavy - really anything over 800kgs and more than 2m long - you don't have many options when you want an underground system. There is one other manufacturer who make an electro-mechanical system. Their system is not designed for intensive use, it's quite a complicated design that has many opportunities for problems and failures, and lastly - its twice the price of our system.
You have heavy gates to automate? We have the equipment, the skills, the knowledge and the experience to provide you with a solution, that is backed up by our unique guarantee.
